CallReply

Building trades

On the job site, no customer is left without an answer

When you are under a sink or up a ladder, the phone rings out. CallReply immediately texts the caller from your own number to say you will call back.

Call back: Mrs Lambert at your break

What changes on your jobs

The job keeps going. While you work, every customer gets a text and can reply with their address.

Keep your hands free

Finish the fitting or the fuse board without picking up. The customer gets a clear message and knows the request is noted.

Customer informed

Urgent jobs sorted faster

A leak or a broken boiler often means a second call straight away. The customer can also reply by text to describe the problem.

A history for your break

At lunch or in the van, you see every missed call with its time, and the name when the contact is known.

4 calls to return

Your number, nothing else

No switchboard, no second line. The text goes out from your SIM and the customer replies to you as usual.

From your SIM

Set up between two jobs

  1. 01 Install the Android app Download the APK from callreply.fr and grant access to the call log and SMS.
  2. 02 Write your message Give your business name and say you will call back as soon as the job is done.
  3. 03 Get back to work Every missed or rejected call gets its text, with the phone locked in your pocket.

What should a tradesperson's text say?

Keep it simple: your name, the fact that you are on a job, and that you will call back. You can invite the customer to describe the request by text: address, type of fault, a photo sent afterwards. With the {first_name} variable, a customer saved in your address book is greeted by first name; an unknown number gets a neutral wording.

What if I reject a call from a supplier?

You decide which calls count: missed, rejected, or both. For suppliers, your merchant or family, add their number to the STOP list and they will never get an automatic message. The one-text-per-number-per-day rule also stops a persistent customer from receiving the same message three times.

Which trades is it for?

Plumbers, electricians, heating engineers, joiners, tilers, painters, locksmiths: anyone who works alone or in a small team and cannot answer mid-job. The text reassures the homeowner waiting for a quote or a repair, and lets you call back when you actually have the time to talk.

Small firms with a partner or an apprentice benefit too: each Android phone can be registered as a device, and the web space brings the history together. You see at a glance who called during the day on site.

Good to know

A reply, not marketing

The text answers a customer who just called you: they started the exchange. Keep it informational. If you add a promotion, the CNIL rules on direct marketing apply, including consent and a free way to opt out.

The STOP list

Numbers on the STOP list never receive anything: suppliers, family, colleagues. You edit it from the phone or the web space, and a customer can be added on request.

Your data

Data is hosted in France, with a retention period for each kind of data. After that, history keeps dates and statuses but not numbers. Export and erasure are available under My data.

Hidden numbers

A call from a withheld number cannot receive a text: there is no number to reply to. It simply appears in your history.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work without internet on site?

The text goes out over the mobile network, like any ordinary SMS. If the phone was off, missed calls are caught up at restart thanks to a saved resume point.

I have a Samsung or a Xiaomi, is that a problem?

No, but you must exclude CallReply from battery optimisation. The setup guide in the app shows how to do it for your brand.

Does the customer see an unknown number?

No. The text is sent from your own number. The customer receives it as a normal message and can reply to you directly.

Can I reply by hand to one specific call?

Yes. From the history, open the missed call and send a reply in one tap. Manual replies are free, even without a subscription.
